Diabetes Prevention Program

The National Diabetes Prevention Program, or National DPP, is an alliance of public and private organizations that work to reduce the growing problem of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes in the United States.

Alivio Medical Center as a partner in this alliance works to make it easier for people with prediabetes to participate in a high-quality, low-cost, evidence-based lifestyle change program to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes and improve your general health.

These types of programs are hosted nationwide, and our instructors follow the course material provided by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). You will take classes taught by our lifestyle coach, alongside your classmates who you can share your struggles with and get support from. All of our instructors are Hispanic, and present material in Spanish in a culturally relevant way to guide you in making long-term lifestyle changes.
