What You Should Know About Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Alivio Medical Center is taking the COVID-19 Pandemic very seriously. During these challenging times, we assure you that we are staying true to our mission and will continue to care for our community. There may be some visible changes as we have made adjustments to our registration procedures. Please be patient as we are working very hard to keep all patients, employees, and visitors safe.

What Alivio is Doing

Operational Changes

  • Registration and clinical procedures for all patients and visitors have been adjusted so we can protect everyone’s health.
  • Alivio Medical Center is screening (questionnaire and taking temperature) ALL patients, visitors, and vendors who enter the clinics.
  • Call center staff will screen (questionnaire) all patients who call and request appointments.
  • Limiting the number of patients waiting in one area.
  • Limiting the number of companions a patient can bring to the clinic. ONE companion limit per patient*. Any more companions will be asked to wait outside and/or in their vehicles. If the patient is an adult, please try to leave the children at home. * If a patient is scheduled for a pregnancy test, only the patient will be allowed to enter clinic.


  • We are diligently monitoring all updates and recommendations for protocols provided by the CDC and local public health officials.
  • Leadership and Management are meeting frequently to stay on top of our patients’ care and employee health.
  • Frequently informing and training our employees so they can best serve all patients.
  • Alivio’s facilities staff has escalated the range and frequency of sanitation at all of our clinics.

What You Can Do If You Are Feeling Sick

  • If you are sick and would like to see a provider, please call ahead at 773-254-1400 to make an appointment. PLEASE DO NOT come into the clinic before calling Alivio. CALL FIRST.
  • If you are directed to come into Alivio, you will be greeted by a safety screener at the door. It is important to answer all questions the staff asks truthfully, this is for your safety and for the safety of everyone in the clinic.
  • If you are symptomatic, you will still be seen but may be directed to an isolation area to avoid potential exposure to staff and other patients.

If you are NOT experiencing symptoms and have been confirmed by our staff to present to the clinic on another health matter, you will be screened at the door and directed to a designated waiting area.

Clinic Updates

Walk-in Wellness at Berwyn Site

If you plan on visiting urgent care, PLEASE CALL 312-850-8238 FIRST if you are experiencing a cough, fever and have traveled within the last 14 days OR have had direct contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Dental Services

In alignment with Gov. Pritzker’s mandates to limit the spread of COVID-19 through dental offices for the two-week period beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Tuesday, March 31, Alivio will only be treating patients requiring emergency dental procedures.
