Please join Alivio Medical Center as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Alivio Y Salud 5k Run for Health. This year, we are honoring the memory of Arturo Velasquez, a dedicated supporter of Alivio Medical Center.

Proceeds from the Arturo Velasquez Memorial 5K Run help provide critically-needed healthcare to tens of thousands of underserved, uninsured, predominantly Mexican immigrants.

The Alivio Run for Health is the largest Latino amateur athletic event held in a Chicago neighborhood.

The Alivio Run for Health offers something for everyone, and encourages people of all ages to participate. The event features two 5K runs; one for adults, and another for school children. A 2-Mile Fun Walk and a Kid’s Dash for children between 5 and 9 years-old, are also offered. The event culminates in an elaborate awards ceremony in which awards are given for the top male and female in each age category.

To Date:

32,600 children have participated
2,343,000 miles have been run on Pilsen Streets
250,000,000 Calories have been burned
